In June 2020, I had the pleasure of working with social enterprise TWO GOOD CO, supporting their winter campaign to bring extra warmth to women in refuges. I'm a big fan of TWO GOOD's work and was very honoured to get the opportunity to help them get the word out about the good they do. The WHO TWO GOOD CO is a buy one give one social enterprise on a mission to demonstrate love and worth to domestic violence safe houses and refuges across the country. Two Good donate meals to women who have experienced domestic violence. They train women from the refuges they serve, equipping them with the skills and confidence to find employment. Check out their website to see how you can support them and to order delicious meals, cookbooks, gifts and beauty products that will make an impact: www.twogood.com.au THE SITUATION In June 2020 TWO GOOD CO collaborated with Waverley Mills as they had done the previous year to bring warmth and kindness to women in need. Winter is especially tough, and a warm blanket can make a big difference. With the purchase of each wool blanket another one was donated to a women’s shelter. The very limited edition of blankets in two colours was created from 100% wool offcuts that would otherwise be destined for landfill. On top of that, employment was created with the finishing labels being sewed to each blanket with love. TWO GOOD needed help this year getting the word out about the campaign and were keen to test social advertising instead of a public relations campaign they had done the previous year. THE CHALLENGES TWO GOOD hadn’t run any paid social activity in years, so there was no comparable data available. We launched the campaign from scratch with a freshly installed pixel. THE RESULT Using only 65% of the allocated budget the limited edition blankets sold out in less than 2 weeks. The Return on Ad Spend was beyond expectations at over 1,300%. The campaign worked so well because of the great cause, a beautiful Australian made product and the support of Waverley Mills and Sarah Wilson who helped spread the word and shared on their socials, too. This result is a great example of how valuable partnerships can be.
